If anyone wants to run up a video, but hasn't done it before... here's a quick guide;
Given phone and digital cameras are getting better and more popular, soon there will be loads of movie clips out there. But, for the moment, a lot of cool stuff is still only captured on stills. Not a problem... use the stills.
Macs and Windows both come with movie software now. Even the Microsoft Movie Maker can come up with some decent simple videos. If you want something a little bit more clever to try out (without forking out cash) - try http://business.pcauthority.com.au/download/magix-movie-maker-10-silver.aspx
If you use a still image - move around it... eg a pan, zoom, or something just to get some motion. If you can get the changes between pics to match the music, that'll feel great.
Pick some good music. Something that either has some meaning for the content, or just something that sounds good. There's plenty of free music out there. That said, I have occasionally used other music - say a tv theme - that's just felt right for the video. I personally figure it's non-profit making, and if anyone has a problem, I'll pull the video off the web. (NB - That's my personal thought - I'm really not endorsing it; make your own mind up)
Don't forget to include your club URL at some point. Use the proper Rotaract logo too; There's several 'home made' ones out there (some even look great), but the benefits from a single brand image are really worth it.
If you upload to something like youtube or google - put in lots of keywords/tags. Include the name of your area, your club, 'rotaract'... something about some of the activities, 'charity' (if that's a feature). You want people to find your video - make it easy for them. Link to it from your club website.
I've only done a couple, and had fun doing them. If you've run something up, and have any more tips - please post.
