It's a lovely sunny day, my husband is off to Wembley (jammy b*st*rd) and I'm stuck in the lab all day! Bet it rains tomorrow too! I hate working weekends! _________________ Sally Till

I've just got back from watching some banger racing.
Now I just near to clear the petrol, oil and tyre smoke fumes from my lungs! |

We had our Rotaract district ball last night - a Palm Tree and Poker Party with a tropical twist! It was a very good event with well over 100 Rotaractors, friends and Rotarians, held at a club owed by a Rotarian in Esher. A very different format to the traditional - no sit-down meal, just hot standing-up food, no speeches or formalities. There were casino tables and a very good raffle of just three prizes - tickets to Wimbledon, a weekend hire of an Audi TT, and a multimedia package of MP3 player, DVD player and more. They said at the end of the evening that they'd raised at least £1200 for the National Autistic Society.
So today I am nursing a slightly sore head and catching up with Rotaract and Rotary paperwork. I also need to make a ruff for my my friend's clown costume for Kids Out! And obviously the Archers omnibus was a must this morning - I gather from the trailers that I will ned my hanky for tomorrow's epi... |

Sounds like a really good night! John take note for your District ball! We did a similar event for my President's Night last year.
Today I have been shopping, done a load of laundry and watched 'CSI', 'The Apprentice' and 'Doctor Who' on my Sky+. I can't remember the last time I watched a commercial! _________________ Sally Till

I was right! It rained!!! Never mind, we all still had a great time and the DG thought it was a really good afternoon/evening. Dipso and Terry are taking the shooting gallery to Banbury so you have been warned! Also watch out for their 'Medicine Tent' _________________ Sally Till

Medicine Tent? Oh God, my hangover is hurting already!!
Wasn't it awful weather at the weekend? The poor Rtns in Rushmoor, Farnborough and Blackwater Valley held their donkey derby on Monday and it was a total washout - hardly any stall holders, no punters, and no donkeys. Their big event of the year reduced to rubble |

Same thing happened to a neighbouring club of ours - 6 boxes of strawberries and no punters! The old folks homes all had a bank holiday treat!
I am off on holiday on Saturday, can't wait, seems like ages since I last had one (March actually). But first I have to survive our club assembly tomorrow night. This is where the President & his/her team give their plans for the year.
I am the club Youth Opportunities and Rotaract officer as well as DRO! In my spare time I might find time to sleep! _________________ Sally Till
